I have a similar problem.
I have tried Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 and once I shut down the Nuc it won't turn back on again until I pull the network cable, then plug it back in, and remove it once more.
Restarting is flakey as well.
Once I turn it off, and then eventually restart it (after however long) the time on windows is out by however long the machine has been asleep. As in, it's not updated or kept notice of the time at all.
