- When I received the NUC, it originally booted with both modules installed, but then froze when I was working with virtual machines.
- I ran a memory test which failed … I then tested the modules individually, and they passed the individual tests.
- The NUC would then not boot up with both modules installed.
- I then noticed that I had disparate memory speeds 1 x 2133 MHz and 1 x 2400 MHz.
- After having the one module swapped out, I am still experiencing the same issue.
- When the NUC has 2 x 16GB Transcend memory modules (2133 MHz) the following happens:-
- NUC powers on … but nothing appears on the display
- NUC shuts down on its own
- NUC then powers up on its own
- Only to shutdown again and repeat the above process.
- A further question I have … I see Transcend 2400 MHz memory modules have been tested / approved for my NUC ??? why are you using 2400 MHz modules when it is stated in the spec sheet that the memory is DDR4 - SO-DIMMS 2133MHz

Re: NUC6CAYH and RDP
Do you happen to have a nuc with Windows 10 before 1803?
I have spent the last five months (on and off) troubleshooting some RDP issues that were not there prior to 1803.

Re: NUC6CAYH and RDP
I purchased the NUC and Windows 10 Pro in mid-August, so I'm fairly certain it is not a pre-1803 version.
Re: NUC6CAYH and RDP
Ok, thanks for the information.

Re: Nuc wont allow to install OS to new hard drive
Hello CyberPingu,
Thank you for creating this new thread.
I was monitoring your history and noticed that you have not gotten any suggestions regarding the issue you are facing. I would like to help you, so please provide the following information:
- Attach your Download Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* report.
- Let me know the model of the SSD.
To attach a file, the "attach" option will appear in the bottom right corner of the response box.

Re: Windows 10 Power and Sleep settings missing for NUC8i7HNK
1. Sleep issues often come from display or chipset driver issues. Since you have installed the chipset driver, I suggest you to download from Intel and install the both graphic drivers also: Download Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 64-bit for the Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7HNK, NUC8i7HVK
After installing both drivers, reboot your computer.
2. If the sleep option will still not appear, scan through device manager, and look for "unknown device".
3. In the end, it is advisable to download all other drivers (after choosing Windows 10 64bit) and install on your NUC: Downloads for Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7HNK . The Windows installation comes only with the basic drivers

Re: Visual Bios does not work on my NUC8i7HVK
1. Except of not seeing bios, you can boot into Windows?
2. Can you try to connect your NUC to other monitor or TV set?
3. If you have Windows installed, please download Intel System Support Utility, run scan and attach a txt file with the results to your post: Download Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*

NUC won´t wake up from standby
Hello Guys,
I have the following problem with my NUC ( (Product Code: BLKNUC7i7DNK2E). When I leave for lunch, I don´t fully turn off my NUC, but instead just lock the screen and it will go to standby after a while.
Afterwards it won´t wake from standby and the screens (2x Samsung S27E330 connected with HDMI) stay black. The power lamp is on but nothing else is happening, which leaves me no choice but to cut the power and reboot.
Now it´s not turning on properly, but only if two displays are connected. When I disconnect the one using the Protected UHD Hdmi Port the NUC starts normal. This does not solve my problem though, as I am not able to use two displays anymore.
Any ideas?
Thanks for the help

Re: Where can I download drivers for a NUC i7-8559U with Intel 655 graphics?
Thanks for the reply Joshua, but I've already tried that download unsuccessfully.
When trying to load the graphics drivers, an error pops up saying that "This installation package is not supported by this processor type."
It seems as though that download does not apply to the i7-8559U processor.
Are there any other places that might have the correct driver?
Thanks,
Kyle
Re: Where can I download drivers for a NUC i7-8559U with Intel 655 graphics?
Hi Kyle,
Which Windows 10 version do you use? RS2 or RS3 or RS4?
10.0.17134.xxx => RS4
10.0.16299.xxx => RS3
10.0.15063.xxx => RS2
If you are not using RS3 or RS4, you may meet this problem. Please update OS to the latest version.
Best regards,
Joshua
Re: Windows 10 Power and Sleep settings missing for NUC8i7HNK
Leon,
Thank you so much for your help, as your suggestions have resolved this issue.
In comparing the versions of the graphics drivers that I had installed, I discovered that the Radeon GPU had a default "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" driver installed. Also, the version of my Intel GPU driver was way off (not even similar to 24.20.100.6229), so I suspect that may have been a Microsoft
When I first installed Windows 10, I went to the Intel Driver & Support Assistant page per the user's manual, and let it automatically install all of the drivers (link below).
Intel® Driver & Support Assistant
It rebooted at least 6 times and installed a lot of drivers as I kept returning to that same web page and running the tool and letting it do its thing.
It did finish successfully and gave me the message (see attached screen shot) that said that all of the drivers were up to date and installed with green checkboxes next to all of the detected hardware.
Why the Driver Support Assistant didn't do something as basic as installing the appropriate GPU drivers is beyond me.
In any event, thank you once again for your help!

- For testing purposes, can you please try another operating system image with a different USB thumb drive?
- Have you tried using your KDI-MSFT Windows 10 USB Device with a different computer?

Re: Windows 10 Power and Sleep settings missing for NUC8i7HNK
OK, just WOW! After I sent you the reply above, I wondered if there were any other drivers that still needed to be installed that the Intel Driver Assistant failed to install.
When I started out, I had 5 files in my Downloads folder. By the time I got done comparing the versions of all the actual drives posted on the Intel website for the NUC8i7HNK for Windows 10 and installing the missing / out of date ones, I ended up with 14 files in my downloads folder!
My advice to anyone installing Windows 10 on an NUC is to just completely SKIP the Intel Driver Assistant tool and download them yourself.
Thanks again.
Re: NUC7i5BNH Bios update failed, now cannot boot
Hello Okel,
Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities.
I can see that you experienced a problem when updating the BIOS version, I can also see that you were not able to fix it with the recovery methods.
In this case, I will need more information to continue, specifically the model and part number of the RAM, as well as the model and part number of the SSD installed, these are important so that we can find the best solution for you.

Re: NUC6i7KYK not booting with 2nd memory module
What is the brand and model of the memory RAM?
As you mentioned, the proper memory RAM for the NUC is DDR4-2133+ 1.2V, 1.35V SO-DIMM and the max capacity is 32 GB:
https://ark.intel.com/products/89187/Intel-NUC-Kit-NUC6i7KYK
Could you please provide the link where you saw that we tested the NUC using Transcend 2400 MHz memory modules?
The problem could be related to hardware to one of the memory slots. To rule out that possibility: Did you test the NUC using just one memory stick at the time on each memory slot?
Is the problem always happening when using an specific memory slot?

Re: Green LED lights in NUC
Hello HankWang,
Thank you for posting.
There is not problem with the LED you see there, this green LED is going to be on if the power brick is connected to the NUC and is working. It is an indicator that the power brick is providing standby power to the NUC. We do not recommend to close this since it's part of the air flow of the Intel® NUC.
We had a previous discussion for this matter here: NUC8i7HVK PowerOff
