- I'm going to buy some food, but rain will be soon. Can you help me?
- Buy a car!
- Maybe you give me an umbrella?..
- No, idiot, you must buy a muscle car!!!
Our discussion in my understanding.
Unknown guys are came here. Instead of technical discussion they are trying to move discussion into emotional, because they "have found" somewhere information, with which they disagree/don't understand. I already had bring apologies, if I told something wrong, because I'm not a native speaker. Or you guys have an interested in sales of expensive wonder-box? Maybe you get a percent from every sold of wonder-box? In this case I will understand, why you strongly recommend me to pay more.
And if you want to talk about conduct. You are really think, that I don't deserve a help, because you "found wrong grammar" in my messages? Or because I'm not english-speaker? Or why? We are engineers, we are talking using arguments and facts language. If your arguments will be stronger than mine, I will agree with you, even if it doesn't solve my problem. Otherwise it looks like "I will tell you something useless, just because I want to do nothing..."
OK. Let's place all dots on i. I'm trying to understand what do I missed. Please, read carefully!
1. I came here for help and pointed on issue: the internal graphics doesn't works when external graphics is connected thru PCIe. I suspect in BIOS source code something like
gpu[highest_bus_address].Init()
instead of
for(i=lowest_bus_address; i<highest_bus_address; ++i)
gpu[i].Init()
Is it hard to fix?
2. David suggested to use USB-C port and very expensive wonder-box for connecting an external card. I didn't ask for help with connecting external video to the NUC. Where is an answer on question "why do internal GPU doesn't work?"?
3. I asked David to look deeper on a problem, because I think problem isn't due to the connection interface.
4. David pointed on specification where said: originally engineers expected only storages in M.2 port. I understand it. And it might be an answer, if I had asked "Why do my external video doesn't work?". There is still no answer "why do internal gpu doesn't work?". Also I still don't have understanding: this issue will be with any device connected to the PCIe or only with video card. I don't have a many unused PCIe devices to test it.
5. I tried to arguement my position from my point of view. Because I think my question isn't clear for David: I don't look for a way how to connect an external card, I see an issue with an already connected external card. And I even point WHY I want do it. I believe, that fix of this problem can open new markets for NUC and I will try to tell people how they can easily extend NUC and use NUC not as just a typewriter.
6. I'm really think, that even limited functionality of "NUC with external GPU" is awesome and I'm really thankful for that. Because no one can forbid to code something like gpu[internal_gpu_bus_address].Init(). Isn't it? Are you did find sarcasm there?
And finally, can you drop emotions/politics/etc and try to look deeper/fix an issue with malfunctional internal gpu!? External GPU must works too. I don't want to exchange functionality, I want to increase it.
P.S. I don't have "sarcasm", "trolling", "annoy", etc. If you find it for yourself - my apologies. No sarcasm, I'm really sorry for that. Really. Sorry.
